This festival is a CHSSA event where we bring in professional vocalists to critique our students on traditional literature. After the festival has concluded, we share those performances with our community in this Spring Recital! Performing will be numerous soloists, Concert Choir, Tiger Ladies, and Encore! See you there! This festival is the highly selective honor group that seeks out the best of the best musicians at the high school level! They go through TWO extensive auditions to participate in either the mixed, men’s, or women’s choirs that will perform in an amazing concert to end the festival! These students will be announced towards the end of the first semester and will get to travel to Denver for the weekend long festival. Selected students will learn and perform advanced literature, meet singers from across the state, and be taught by some of the industry’s finest! Time of concert is subject to change. This festival is selective and open to a small group of singers, yet to be selected, to join The Colorado State University-Pueblo Honor Choir. The students selected will spend their weekend meeting singers from around the region and will learn new music as an honor ensemble, and will hold a concert at the end of the festival! Every year, the vocal music department holds or annual “Sing-A-Thon” fundraiser! Students will begin approaching friends and family to ask for sponsorships for the program early in September. Patrons who sponsor at a certain level are invited to our Ice Cream Social, which formally marks the end of our fundraiser. There will be games, goodies, and lots of singing… giving the crowd a sneak preview of our first concert!
